A Brief History

Asperger's syndrome is a new diagnoses first appearing in the DSM-IV manual in 1994. The name Asperger was taken from an Austrian psychologist Hans Asperger who discovered the form of Autism during the 1940s in Vienna. The first book on Asperger’s, Autism and Asperger Syndrome, was not written until 1991 by Uta Frith.
